Welcome to Spring skiing!

It’s that wonderful time when the sunshine is just as wonderful as the fresh snow, and you can never be sure which you’ll get from one minute to the next…the best of both seasons, a la minute! We’re enjoying lots of both, and heading into a weekend of special events.


David Zuckerman from Boulder Beer Co joins us this weekend for our April Brewmaster’s Weekend, and brings a wealth of experience and tasty beers with him. Friday, he will be co-hosting the Boulder Beer Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairing event with the Atwater culinary team starting at 6pm. View the menu.  We strongly suggest making a reservation right away (if you haven’t already) for this guided pairing adventure. Saturday afternoon highlights our Meet the Brewmaster program in Fireside, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet & visit with David Zuckerman and try several of his craft beers on an informal basis. This is a complimentary event from 4 – 7pm, and always is open to guests, locals, and the general public. With complimentary valet parking, it’s an easy and inexpensive way to enjoy some great craft beers and perhaps pair with Atwater Small Plates for a delightful evening! 

Starting this afternoon, the Taste of Vail Weekend is a wonderful feature for our Atwater on Gore Creek culinary team! The Lamb Cook-off is from 3 – 6pm in Vail Village, the Mountaintop Picnic Friday afternoon, and the Grand Tasting on Saturday evening. We have planned our Brewmaster’s Weekend to work around the Taste of Vail schedule so our guests can enjoy both events each day without overlapping…and you can do it all!

Next week we will be rolling out our summer Brewmaster’s Weekends with a fun twist, so stay tuned for the scoop!

New on the craft beer list this week are the following:

  • Lagunitas Brown Shugga’, American Strong Ale, Petaluma, CA
  • Funkwerks Saison, Ft. Collins, CO (large format)
  • Uinta Sea Legs Baltic Porter, Salt Lake City, UT (large format)

Please note that there are only a few bottles available of the Funkwerks Saison and the Uinta Sea Legs Baltic Porter, as they were part of the Big Beers Festival Fireside Program in January. This is a special opportunity to try these products, and a portion of the proceeds from these beers are donated to the Vail Valley Charitable Fund.

Our Craft Draft Flight is beginning its off-season rotation today, so you can expect to find most of the following:

  • Dry Dock Apricot Blonde
  • Samuel Adams Alpine Spring
  • AC Golden Colorado Native
  • Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA (or) Eddyline Crank Yanker IPA
  • Young’s Double Chocolate Stout (or) Blanche de Bruxelles (Belgian Wit)
