Destination Hotels and Resorts, an exceptional collection of hotels and resorts around the nation, has received the “Leader in Sustainable Tourism” Award from National Geographic Traveler Magazine for its green initiative, Destination Earth.

As part of the Destination Hotels & Resorts Collection, Vail Cascade Resort & Spa, a premier Vail mountain resort, is proud to champion the Destination Earth initiative, recognizing the need to preserve the world in which we operate and live in, while continuing to serve our guests.  Vail Cascade is dedicated to practices and programs that pay respect to, and lessen the footprint on our changing environment.  As part of our “green” program at Vail Cascade, we offer green meetings, organic and sustainable food and beverage options, recycling stations, online and electronic materials reducing the usage of paper, water conservation and much more.

Our work continues to preserve and protect our environment in a very responsible and balanced way.  Earth Day is Sunday, April 22nd and each year our property has found a special way to acknowledge this day.  From Candlelight Nights in Atwater on Gore Creek, an award-winning Vail restaurant, to tree plantings and working with Habitat for Humanity to help our neighbors in need, we continue to involve our employees and guests in achieving a more perfect environment through our actions.
